What is Bergara?
Bergara is a Spanish (and American) manufacturer of quality rifles. What many don’t know, is that Bergara is originally a barrel manufacturer. Spain is well-known for producing quality barrels and the Bergara barrels are no exception. Their quality is outstanding.
Bergara is based in the Bergara region of Spain, and also has a production and design facility in America. From there many European and American gun manufacturers are supplied with Bergara barrels. And it’s with these quality barrels, that Bergara has also started producing their own rifles for both hunting and sport shooting.
Are Bergara rifles good?
After many years of purely manufacturing barrels, Bergara eventually started to develop their own rifles with a team of specialists in the American facility of the company. That facility had already been set up to meet the increasing demand for barrels by American gun manufacturers. A gunsmith -a former head of production and training in the Precision Weapons Section of the US marines- designed the first models. Later, more former US marines gunsmiths were employed by Bergara and it’s this team that still forms the heart of the Bergara production team.
Production of Bergara rifles is now divided between America and Spain. With the former supplying the Custom and Premier series, while Spain provides the global market with the popular and very wide range of B14 models.
In both hunting and sport shooting, Bergara rifles are quite popular and well-regarded. The B14-series has turned into a right evergreen, while the Custom and Premier series cater for the high-end customers.
