Sordin is a brand that offers hearing protection in the upper regions of the market. Their product range starts with passive ear defenders and goes all the way up to ear defenders with ambient sound. The ear defenders thus were marketed as MSA Sordin. Later, Sordin AB switched hands and the nearby Swedish company Wikmanshyttan Safety AB took over. This company already made passive hearing protection, together with other ‘above shoulder’ safety gear. The take-over means Sordin still produces its high-quality hearing protection, but with a new owner, expanding the product range of the parent company.
So, just to give everybody some peace of mind and answer the often heard question: ‘Is MSA Sordin the same as Sordin?’ Yes, the old and well-known MSA Sordin ear defenders and the contemporary Sordin ones are exactly the same. Same factory, same quality. The only thing missing are just three letters.
