This G&G BAMF Recon DST AEG airsoft replica has a length of 782 mm that makes it very manoeuvrable and it’s a multi-purpose replica. BAMF stands for Billet Aluminium Modern Firearm. So, naturally, the replica’s housing is made of impact-resistant aluminium. The G&G airsoft replica’s barrel features a long and unique muzzle brake at the end. That barrel is shrouded in a durable handguard with a short Weaver/Picatinny accessory rail on the bottom of the front end. The scope rail on top of the handguard and the housing comes equipped with a foldable front and rear sight, which can be used to aim accurately. The rear sight can be windage- and elevation adjusted and the front sight is elevation-adjustable. Both sights can easily be taken off, if you’d prefer to use something like a red dot.
The accessory rail on the bottom of the handguard can be used for a bipod. Additionally, the handguard features multiple weight-reducing slots on all sides and it has multiple M-LOK slots. These allow you to easily mount accessories onto the replica. There are two pre-moulded finger grooves on the front of the replica’s housing, which allow you to firmly hold the G&G BAMF Recon DST airsoft replica with your off-hand. The pistol-style grip has a smooth surface and it feels great to hold in your hands. This replica has a PDP-style stock, which can be length-adjusted to determine the most comfortable LOP. Taking off the butt stock will provide access to the battery compartment located in the buffer tube.
The G&G BAMF Recon DST can be used comfortably by both lefthanded and righthanded airsofters. That’s because the magazine pin and the fire selector can be operated from both the left side and the right side of the housing. This replica has a semi-automatic firing mode and a fully automatic firing mode out of the box. In order to use the replica’s burst mode, you’ll have to link it to the fully automatic position. You can do so by pulling the trigger for ten consecutive seconds. A clearly audible beep will indicate you’ve successfully linked the 3 BB burst mode. Pulling the trigger and flipping the fire selector five times will link the 5 BB burst mode. You can pull the charging handle back to open the dust cover on the ejector, so you can access the adjustable hop-up. This replica features the Version 2 G2 gearbox with a quick-change spring.
Same as the original firearm, this BAMF Recon DST airsoft replica by G&G, too, comes supplied with a magazine that has the CARS-system. CARS stands for Cobalt Advanced Reload Systems and it means the magazine will push itself out of the replica as soon as you’ve fired the final BB. When the extended follower sticks out all the way, a plate will flip open and push the magazine out of the replica. This isn’t an issue if you’re stationary or if you’re close to the ground. But if you’d prefer not to lose or damage your magazines, you can use the small switch on top of the magazine to turn off the CARS-function.
