This Kershaw Leek Blackwash pocket knife has a BlackWash coating from tip to toe, with a stonewashed black/oxide coating making it look well/used. The beauty of this is, that the pocket knife looks like it has been with you for years, while the coating will mask those annoying small scratches that would appear on polished surfaces after the first use.
Designer of this pocket knife is Ken Onion, custom knifemaker from Hawaii and inventor of the SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism as can be found on this knife. With this system, the blade is kept closed with a preloaded spring that also gives the blade a small push at the initial opening when you use the flipper or thumb stud.
The 2.29 mm (0.09”) thin blade has a sharp tip and is perfect for slicing and detailing. By using Sandvik 14C28N steel, Kershaw made the blade of the Leek Blackwash hard and corrosion resistant.
