Stock oil GRS 90 ml

A stock that has been treated with GRS stock oil 90 ml is protected against moisture and drying out. To properly maintain a stock, it should be oiled for about two to three times per season.

GRS stocks are made of laminated birchwood, which, like every other wood type, needs to be oiled to be protected from moisture and drying out. Moisture can affect the glue and undo its binding effect, drying out degrades the flexibility of wood, which makes it break faster. Moreover, this oil adds an aesthetic benefit as well by emphasizing the texture and beauty of the wood.

User instructions for GRS’ 90 ml stock oil:

1. Make sure that your rifle is safe and unloaded
2. Clean and dry the stock of your rifle, remaining moisture is trapped under the oil layers and degrades the glue
3. Shake the bottle thoroughly for one minute, for best results the wax and oil need to be mixed properly
4. Add a thin layer of oil to your stock, let it be soaked up for two minutes
5. If a certain spot absorbs all the oil, add more oil to it
6. Optional: lightly sand the stock in between oil layers with 220-320 grained sand paper, for the best results
7. Two layers of oil should suffice
8. Remove the remaining oil
9. Let the stock dry for 12 hours on room temperature

The GRS stock oil 90 ml is based on linseed oil, which tends to generate heat when it dries up. It’s advised to dispose of the used cloth by burning it, to prevent self-combustion.
