The Kershaw Brawler has a, especially for an EDC pocket knife, surprisingly tactical appearance, of which the blade is the first thing that catches the eye, thanks to its edgy Tanto shape. This shape provides for a very straight edge for perfect cutting abilities, while the point is string and capable of punching through tough materials. The hard-wearing black oxide coating offers extra protection for the blade, although the 8Cr13MoV steel has a great corrosion resistance and hardness as is. The material is easy to sharpen and has good edge holding capabilities.
As for the handle, that’s made from impact resistant and durable FRN, fibreglass filled nylon, featuring a nice texture for a prefect grip. The scales feature four mounting points for the pocket clip and inside the handle a liner lock will secure the blade when opened, preventing it from folding back on your fingers when you’re using the pocket knife.
As with many other Kershaw knifes, the Brawler has incorporated the SpeedSafe assisted opening system, making it easy to open the blade with one hand using a flipper, while getting some spring assistance in the initial opening movement.
