This Caldwell E-Max Link transceiver has a handy design that feels great to hold. You will receive an audio cord with a 3.5 mm plug along with the transceiver, allowing you to easily connect it to your hearing protector, but it also has a Bluetooth function. By using this function, you can wirelessly connect a hearing protector to the transceiver, meaning you will never have to tangle with any cord or wiring. That Bluetooth has a range of ten meters, so even if you leave the transceiver somewhere -within a range of ten meters- you can keep listening.
Speaking of range; de Caldwell E-Max Link transceiver has a total communication range of 19 kilometres (12 miles). It picks up signals within that 19 kilometres, so it’s probably a good thing you can manually set the squelch level. The transceiver has ten separate call tones, which allows you and your partners to easily distinguish between who’s calling. Other than that, the transceiver has several other functions, such as the possibility to lock it -by simply keeping the menu-button pressed for a few seconds- and the Voice Activated Keying (VOX) function.
The Caldwell E-Max Link transceiver is powered by a Li-Ion battery, which ensures it will last up to a maximum of eight hours. It takes about four hours before it is fully charged and you can easily charge it with the charging cable which has a USB Type-C connection.
