Walther PDP Full Size Match 5" SF - Vintage

This Walther PDP full size match 5” SF is a vintage edition of the well-known pistol. The wooden grip plate and colour case hardening together provide this pistol with a unique look.

The Walther PDP in all its variants is a highly appreciated pistol, for good reason. It is reliable, accurate and those intended for competition have an excellent trigger. The same can be said for this 5” match-edition with a steel frame, providing a relatively long barrel for better shooting performance. Because of the longer barrel the gun is more accurate, while the greater length and higher weight also reduce the recoil impulse.

First to stand out is of course the colour case hardening of this pistol, which is visually unique to every pistol. The wooden grip plate consists of one singular piece and provides it with a classical look, to go along with the golden brand name and series. Checkering is applied around the whole pistol grip, including the front and back, in order to improve grip on the pistol. Similarly, the front of the trigger guard is checkered, as it is used by some shooters to improve their grip on the PDP.

In order to smoothly reload the full size match 5” SF Walther PDP, the slide features serrations in the front and back in order to provide extra traction. The front serrations are expanded into slide cuts, ensuring that the slide is of the same weight as on other PDP versions. This same weight ensures that recoil is also exactly the same between versions. This way, more of the same parts can be used for different versions of the pistol, making the parts more universal.

This attention to detail is also evident in the trigger design: a ‘Dynamic Performance Trigger’ or DPT is fitted in this PDP variant. The trigger offers a light trigger pull of around 5 pounds, with a very short reset. This way, the vintage steel frame PDP does not only offer a classic look, but also competitive performance.
